Othoplasty known as ear surgery, corrects the size, form and position of the ears.

This procedure is indicated for patients older than 7 years who present alar and/or big ears. It consists of resahping the sulcus that are lost in the above mentioned ear. Is done under local anesthesia and sedatives for the calmness and relaxation of the patient.

It is practice frequently at an early age, between 7 and 14 years, nevertheless this procedure also helps the adults. The scars of the surgical incisions are located behind the ear at the crease level making them imperceptible.

After surgery the patient is discharge with a bandage at the ears and is instructed to use an elastic tape for two weeks. The procedure is individual depending on the need of each patient. It is recommended not to perform strong activities in fifteen days post operative. The stitches are cut in 8 days approximately.

Surgical Time: 1 to 2 hours.

Anesthesia: Local + General in children.

Hospitalization: Ambulatory.

Recovery: 2 days.

Duration of Results: Permanent.
